Peterborough City U14 Girls cruised to a convincing 3 – 1 win over close rivals Northumberland United on Tuesday (September 5) to secure 1st place in the U14 Tier 1 division of the Durham Region Soccer League. Bolstered by stellar goalkeeping and a solid defence, strikers Grace Plunkett(2) and Charlotte Donaldson(1) did the rest by finding the back of the net. This is the team’s second consecutive year as DRSL league champions.
The girls capped off an undefeated season with a near-perfect record of 12 wins, one draw and zero losses. Grace Plunkett led the team with 18 goals and goalkeeper Ellie Lewington led the league with 8 shutouts.
