The Peterborough City Soccer Association is proud of the proficiency, motivation and dedication of its Club Technical Coaches as well as the individual volunteer Division/Team Coaches and Managers. The coaches operate under the direction of the Director of Coaching (DOC). Please contact the DOC with any questions related to coaching.
Decisions about whether or not to form a second team in an age division and additional coaching appointments as necessary will be made after the tryouts, based on the number of players and other factors. In the event that a second team is formed, all players will remain under the direction of the appointed head coach and both teams will train together until a coach for the second team is confirmed.
Responsible Coaching
The Responsible Coaching Movement (RCM) is a call to action for sport organizations, parents, and coaches to enact responsible coaching across Canada – on and off the field of play. The PCSA Board of Directors, staff and coaches have pledged their commitment to the principles of the RCM, specifically, implementation of the Rule of Two, Background Screening and Ethics Training. Understanding the Rule of Two, Background Screening and Ethics Training are mandatory for all PCSA coaches.

U15 Girls | Dave Bartleman I have been an avid soccer player in Peterborough City since a very young age. I grew up playing competitively for Peterborough City, I also played varsity soccer while attending Sir Sandford Fleming College and Trent University. Concluding my post secondary schooling I was an assistant coach at Sir Sandford Fleming College for two years. I have coached both of my children since they started playing house league through the PYSC and then while they transitioned to competitive soccer with Peterborough City. For the last four seasons I have served as the Head Coach of the Peterborough City 2009 Girls. |

U17 Girls | Anne Clark Anne has been the head coach for the U15G for 2 years (1 of which was covid), and assisted this team for 3 years. She has experience assisting developmental boys teams for 2 years prior to that. Anne’s philosophy as a coach is to develop the technical and tactical game of soccer at an individual and team level. She is a believer that having a positive growth mindset in training allows for skill development at a quicker pace as mistakes are encouraged, not disciplined. This approach to coaching has created a team that is inclusive and tight, disciplined, and ultimately successful in being athletes on and off the pitch. |
U21 Women | Angela Gaskell After playing 4 years of varsity soccer at the University of Waterloo, I was appointed as Assistant Coach and served in that role for three seasons. In 2013, I became the Head Coach of the PCSA 2006 Girls and have served in this role ever since. I am proud and honoured to give back to the PCSA as this is where I played competitive soccer from the age of 11, right through to captaining the Senior Women’s team. I have recently become C-License trained and look forward to completing this full certification in 2022. |
