On Sunday afternoon, June 25, Peterborough City Soccer Association held its first “Match of the Month” at Eastgate park. The event, which was sponsored by Soccer Plus in Peterborough, saw Peterborough City U18 Boys defeat Sporting FC from Toronto by a score of 2-1 in a CSL Cup Quarterfinal bout. Peterborough will take on either Wexford or Aurora in the CSL Cup semifinal on a date to be determined.
In the morning’s curtain raiser, Peterborough City U21 Women defeated Greater Sudbury by a score of 3 – 0 in OWSL league action.
