City Teams Shine in League and Cup Play

PCSA U17 Boys earned promotion to the CSL next year by virtue of a 3 – 1 win over Collingwood in their inter-division play-off game in Innisfil on Saturday (August 27). They had already clinched first place in the HDSL U17/U18 East Division thanks to a scoreless draw with Ganaraska United in their final league game at Eastgate on August 23. Their season record in the league is 9 wins, 3 ties and 2 losses. They took silver in the HDSL League Cup competition where they went all the way to the final before losing out to Ganaraska by a score of 3 – 1.

The U14 Boys Maroon team were runners-up in YRSL Division 1 and are in line for promotion to the CSL next year. They won their final game at Oak Ridges on August 31 by a score of 3 – 0. They reached the semi-final of the YRSL McGarrigle Cup before being eliminated by Oshawa Kicks by a score of 1-0.

The U13 Girls Maroon team posted a third-place finish in YRSL Division 1 following a 2-2 draw with Aurora Stingers in their final regular season game on August 23. Their season record in the league is 8 wins, 5 ties and 1 loss. They are in position for promotion to the CGSL next year. The girls defeated Darlington Energy by a score of 2 – 1 in the championship game to claim the YRSA McGarrigle Cup at the Markham Sports Dome on Saturday (August 27).

PCSA U16 Girls posted seven wins in a row and climbed to a second-place finish in the 16-team CGSL Regional league with a record of 10 wins, 2 ties and 3 losses. The team repeated as Champions at the prestigious Showcase of Champions tournament in Ottawa on August 7.
