Spain claimed their second world title at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, defeating Lionel Messi’s Argentina 1-0 after extra time in the final at New York New Jersey Stadium. Co-hosted by Canada, the USA, and Mexico, this historic tournament was the first to feature a 48-team format and 104 matches.
Canada’s adventure at the World Cup came to an end in the round of 16, but not before they treated their fans to a number of firsts, e.g. first points and first win at the Finals, first time to reach the knockout stage, and first knockout stage win. All of Canada’s games, as well as Sunday’s final, were available for viewing at a series of watch parties hosted by PCSC at the Eastgate clubhouse.
