Both the U13 Girls and the U16 Girls teams emerged winners at the CGSL Cup Finals in Port Perry on the weekend. The U13 Girls needed a shootout to claim the Premier Division Cup after their game against Glen Shields ended in a 2-2 tie. They defeated Aurora by a score of 2 – 0 in the semi-final game on Saturday. The U16 girls were 1 – 0 winners over Newmarket in their Division 2 Cup Final. In the semi-final game on Saturday they defeated Kleinburg in a shootout following a 3-3 tie in regulation time. Both these teams also won their regular season CGSL League Championship, so it was doubly sweet for them to also take home the league cups.
