The Mark Forster Memorial Tournament is an annual tournament for Men’s and Women’s club recreational teams.
Mark Forster played in the Peterborough Youth Soccer Club before joining the Peterborough City Soccer Club in 1980, where he played on the Senior Men’s team in the Toronto and District Premier Soccer League.
A skilled and committed young midfield player with a great attitude, Mark was popular with team mates and fans alike. We lost Mark in 1988 at the age of 25.
In 1990 the City of Peterborough and the Peterborough City Soccer Club erected a plaque at Eastgate Memorial Park (number 1 pitch) in Mark’s name.
The plaque reads:
Mark Forster 1963 – 1988
This plaque is to commemorate the memory of Mark Forster. Who during his short lifetime, made major contributions to the game of soccer and other sports in the Peterborough community.
